Like every semester, we organize the Ewoche (roughly: freshers’ week). But like everybody else, we have a tiny problem due to physical distancing. We still give our best and welcome new students. For this, we are using a combination of Mattermost, OLAT, and other tools.
If you want to participate in Ewoche, especially if you are a new student, join Mattermost. This is a chat service you can either use in your browser or install a desktop client or an app. OLAT is a learning platform, also used by most lectures. You can get to the Ewoche course here. The access code is will be announced on the website below. For OLAT and Mattermost, you need the RHRK-credentials you should have received via mail.
Until further notice the rooms of the Fachschaft Informatik will remain closed. On one hand, because the university administration has forbidden students to enter all buildings, on the other hand, because it is currently a health risk to keep a room open to the public without taking massive hygiene precautions, which we cannot do.
Unfortunately, this also means that social events of the Fachschaft cannot take place outside the Fachschaft rooms, especially during Ewoche, our party, or barbecue. We are looking forward to the situation relaxing and to seeing you again.
At a foyer party, people dance, sweat, crowd together, in short: the perfect opportunity for diseases to spread. In times of the spreading COVID 19 pandemic, it is a high risk to host such a party.
Therefore, the FSR decided on Wednesday to cancel the semester opening party planned for mid-April. At that time, we had hardly invested any money. Still, after the regular course of events, it would be time to conclude financially binding contracts, such as insurance or contracts for security personnel.
City and state have issued closures of bigger events, and this confirms that we made the right decision and averted both financial risk from the Fachschaft and medical risk from helpers and all guests.

our Christmas Party takes place at Tuesday the 10th of December and you are cordially invited to join us.
It starts around 5:30 pm in room 48-453. There will be mulled wine, warm food and loads of cookies. Additionally, we organize a scrap secret santa. If you want to participate, bring a present with you (max.10 Euro) which we will gather at the party. Afterwards, the presents are randomly distributed.
Like last year we will have Karaoke in the neighboring room.
