FSR Election

Instructions for filling out the election documents

In your Wahlunterlagen (ballot papers) you will find a Wahlschein, Stimmzettel, Stimmzettelumschlag, and a Wahlbriefumschlag (all ballot papers and envelopes are labeled accordingly). The ballot papers are all sent only once. If you have registered but have not received one (Monday, November 16, 2020, all documents should have arrived), please contact the election administration (fsr-wahl@cs.uni-kl.de).

Your election documents (what and how is coming soon) must be received by the election administration by 3 pm on Friday, 20.11.2020, at the latest. Therefore, it is best to bring your letters to the post office by Wednesday.

Remark: On the printed Wahlschein, one day is printed wrong. Instead of “Dienstag” it should be “Freitag”, 20.11.2020, as stated above.

The procedure for postal voting is as follows:

  1. Fill out the Stimmzettel (ballot paper).
    • Voting is according to the principles of majority voting.
    • A maximum of 14 persons may be elected. If more than 14 votes are distributed, the ballot paper becomes invalid.
    • For the election, the registered candidates must be marked with Ja (yes), Nein (no) or Enthaltung (abstention).
  2. Fold the Stimmzettel inwards twice (exactly as it is prefolded) and put it into the Stimmzettelumschlag.
  3. Fill in the handwritten declaration on the Wahlschein with place, date, and signature. Without a signature the vote is invalid.
  4. Place the Stimmzettelumschlag together with the Wahlschein in the Wahlbriefumschlag.
  5. Seal the Wahlbriefumschlag and send it by mail to the Wahlleitung (election management). The election documents can also be handed in by the above-mentioned deadline to the Wahlleitung or by proxy at the secretariat of the AStA in building 46 room 207.

Election announcement

We elect a new student council. It is elected according to the principles of majority voting. As members of the student council you are all entitled to vote and are eligible for election (unless you fall under the restriction to exercise the right to vote according to §43 Abs 3).

The election day is 20.11.2020. We vote by postal vote, which is a little more complicated than usual. Here is a short overview of what has to be done by when:

Until 05.11.2020 until 15 o’clock you can submit election proposals. For an election proposal you have to submit the surname, first name, department, the correspondence address given to the university and a university e-mail address of the person you want to propose in the OLAT or by e-mail to the election committee or in writing [1].

You can register as voters until 3 p.m. on November 12th, 2020. You can either register at the OLAT by giving your name, department, and correspondence address or you can pick up your documents personally at the AStA Secretariat during opening hours [2]. Your correspondence address is also the address to which we will send you the election documents; if you are not registered as a voter, you cannot vote.

Your election documents must be received by the electoral committee by 3 pm on November 20th, 2020. You can also hand in the documents personally at the election management [1].

You can also consult the list of eligible voters until 15:00 on 05.11.2020. If you want to do so, you can either do it in person at the AStA office during the opening hours [2] (please register to avoid unnecessary waiting times and bring your student ID card with you), or you can write an e-mail to the election committee from your RHRK email address with your full name. If your entry is incorrect, you can report it and the entry will be adjusted accordingly.

For more information, please refer to the voting rules for postal voting.
